The GOOD news is that our lodge has met it’s fraternal obligation by exceeding the Grand Lodges Elks National Foundation per capita giving for the last several years. The BAD news is at current we are far short of meeting this goal. As a reminder to our newer members the ENF is the charitable organization within the Elks that supports Veterans, Community Investment Programs (Grants), Drug Awareness, Youth Athletics(Soccer & Hoop Shoot) & Academic Scholarships. Just to give you some idea of the reach of these programs I have listed the numbers for last year alone. At its February meeting in Long Beach, California, the Elks National Foundation Board of Trustees approved appropriations and distributions for the 2018-19 fiscal year totaling $33.77 million
Community Investments Program $12.37 million
State Elks Association Grants $9.60 million
Scholarship Programs $4.79 million
Elks National Veterans Service Program $2.01 million
Elks Hoop Shoot Free Throw Contest $1.01 million
Elks Drug Awareness Program $709,340
Elks Memorial Building Maintenance $772,680
I am challenging all our members to go online and make a small financial donation towards meeting our Lodge’s goal of supporting this worthy effort. This will also help our lodge qualify for specific ENF community grants that require that we meet the member giving per capita of $4.75 (that means $4.75 x 403 members = $1,914.25) The ENF has funded many lodge grants including the Veteran’s Picnic, Holiday Food Basket Program, Police Night Out, Lebanon Food Pantry & Adopt A Park Program. The ENF has also funded the Soccer & Hoop Shoots for which our lodge has had our own members children win awards!
Please click on the link below and follow my lead by making a small annual donation to help fund the ENF.
